kurinuki workshop

£65.00

Registration is open for the first handbuilding workshops of the year exploring the Japanese technique of Kurinuki (literally ‘hollowing out’).

A great introduction for beginners, Kurinuki also offers challenges to more experienced potters. So it doesn’t matter what level of skill you have - from zero experience upwards - you will make work you can be proud of.

  • sessions last 21/2 hours

  • each workshop is for a maximum of 5 adults - over 16’s only

  • you will make at least TWO complete pieces

  • I will bisque and glaze fire for you

  • refreshments and all tools and materials are provided

  • if you have your own tools, please do feel free to bring them

  • glazing, both kiln firings and, of course, your finished work, are all included in the fee

  • collect your finished pieces from the studio when ready

  • read more about kurinuki in ‘potter’s notes’

Studio location: Walton-on-Thames KT12 2JU. I will contact you directly by email to confirm arrangements for the day, including the full studio address.

NOTE: If too few people register for any one workshop to make it viable, you will be offered a refund or the chance to change dates.
