ceramics to use and enjoy every day

about

I make limited edition functional pieces in stoneware and porcelain, thrown on the wheel and handbuilt, much of its inspired by the coastline of the North East of England where I grew up.

I want my work to be functional and beautiful. I often mix my own clays to match the work and all glazes are my own recipes.

I fell in love with clay at school and later took a diploma in fine and applied art with Goldsmiths in London. Ceramics has been part of my life since those early days and I have worked from my own studio now for a number of years.

Environmental concerns are an important part of my practice. Naturally, I hold particularly concern for the marine environment and the sale of certain works provides contributions to Project Seagrass. Their excellent work restores crucial seagrass meadows around the world.

There’s a bit more detail about me here and about my environmental policies here.
